We want to ensure we:
Our process is pretty simple and straightforward, usually involving only a few steps:
Goal is to decide if there’s any chance for a match between us.
The application could be formal (resume or request for consideration) or informal (casual conversations with network). Could be someone that we have targeted as a potential hire. Could have been a cold application, or a recommendation, or from our network.
We’ll review:
Goal is to learn more about their interests and background, and whether they may be a fit.
You usually have a quick coffee/drink/call with one person at Boltmade to see:
Goal is to assess fit, both cultural and capabilities & experience. We want to get the information we need to make a confident decision about whether to recommend hiring you.
You’ll meet with 3 Boltmade teammates for a much more in-depth interview. It really comes down to figuring out if you’re a good fit for us, just as much as if we’re a good fit for you:
How we figure this all out changes based on your previous experiences and how familiar we are with them, and what kind of work you share with us (if you’re a developer, share code, if you’re a designer, share portfolio work). That said, we often work through a problem on a whiteboard. We often ask lots of questions about your previous experiences. We often review, in detail, your previous work.
Congrats, you’ve made it through the hard parts. Here, you’ll meet one-on-one with Jim, our president, to figure out the specifics of what your employment with Boltmade will look like.
Bring previous work, cool side projects, or neat stuff you’ve worked on. We only have ~30 minutes, so show off your best stuff. Structure wise, we spend some time talking about us, some time talking about you, and then we get right into the awesome stuff you’ve brought along.
